VOL 113 - THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 29

Hey, #NoteddTribe! How are you doing on this Leap Day?

In a recent LinkedIn post, I mentioned we're approaching Notedd's fifth year in April. Reflecting on our journey is wild. Many of you remember receiving that very first edition where I was sweating bullets putting it together. The days, months, and years that followed were all about crafting this newsletter to amplify Black women's stories, achievements, news, and celebrations.

I am immensely proud to have played a part in a legacy that unapologetically acknowledges the importance of Black women in our country and the world, and we're committed to upholding this value at Notedd. Our dedication to empowering Black women has never been stronger.

You, the community, will always be close to my heart. As our mission expands and my focus shifts to other areas of the business, I've made the tough call to discontinue this weekly newsletter. It was a tough decision as the newsletter opened doors to amazing opportunities, but the best part was hearing from each of you on how it impacted your lives, connected you with others, and brought positivity to your day.

So, what's next for us? It's time to unite the Black woman ecosystem. Our knowledge, influence, and power must be recognized, strengthened, and leveraged for collective prosperity and success.

Behind the scenes, we've been working on some exciting developments:

- We launched the newly redesigned Notedd website!

- Our blog, IntheKnowedd, is back! It's a resource for essential advice and knowledge tailored to the needs of us. We just published an article filled with insights on self-renewal and self-care practices, considering we're two months into the new year and already facing heightened societal pressures. Interested in contributing? Submit your ideas here.

- Next month, we'll unveil a new community and referral network for Black women entrepreneurs called SheNotedd. This platform will foster connections, referrals, and insights to grow our businesses - specifically tailored for this community. Would you like to join the community? Sign up here.

- Building on last year's announcement, we'll host virtual and in-person Connectedd events. Save the date for a wellness event on March 19 featuring two phenomenal speakers on a hot topic. I'll give you a hint: "perfectionism."

- This will lead to a health and wellness conference in Spring 2025, bringing siloed conversations on our health to the forefront like menopause, PCOS, culturally competent care, while partnering with leading Black women experts and professionals. Have a conference topic suggestion? Want to get involved? Let's connect!

Lastly, I'm considering (key word: considering) launching an online talk show—a podcast with a daytime show vibe. Stay tuned for more details (if I decide to do it 😂) on our website and LinkedIn as I'll continue to share updates and announcements there!

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for being our dedicated subscribers. This is not a farewell, but rather a thank you for being a vital part of our journey. I am excited to see what the future holds for each of us. And let's continue to lift each other up, what's next for you? Please let me know how I can assist you in any way I can.

Always remember, stay informed, stay connected and stay notedd!

Lauren

Hi Reader,One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned about community is this: engagement doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when people know what to expect from you. That’s why rhythms matter. A rhythm could be as simple as sending a Monday check-in email, hosting a Friday Q&A, or starting the month with a theme your people can rally around. These touchpoints become anchors — the moments people look forward to. In my first community, the group was small. But the members who stayed told me it...

Hey Reader, When clients or customers leave, it’s rarely about price. Most of the time, it’s about connection. Because when people feel like they’re part of something — part of a real community — they’re less likely to leave, even when life gets busy. They don’t want to lose the content, but also the connection. I learned this the hard way with one of the very first members of my first community. She told me she no longer wanted to be a part of it. Not because she couldn’t invest, but because...

Hey Reader, As shared throughout this week, when I first started building communities, I thought growth meant chasing numbers. More followers. More sign-ups. More referrals. But what I’ve learned is that numbers only take you so far. The real momentum comes from connection, alignment, and rhythms that don’t burn you out. Here are three moments that shaped that lesson for me: ✨ Lesson 1: Leadership is felt, not just seen. At an event in June, I shared what later became my Community Conversion...
